John Lewis Oxford Street will open three heated rooftop igloos for private festive dining from 1 October.

Located at 1864 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen on the department store’s sixth floor, each igloo accommodates up to eight seated guests or 10 people standing. Bookings include 2.5 hours of exclusive use and a speaker, allowing groups to play their own music during the experience.

A festive feasting menu will be available from £65 per person, including a glass of Domaine Evremond Classic Cuvée. It begins with snacks such as Gordal olives, Padrón peppers and Gouda and rosemary picos, followed by a wild mushroom cappuccino.

Sharing dishes include harissa king prawns, buttermilk fried chicken, kale and samphire fritters and pumpkin latkes with cardamom soy labneh.

For the main course, guests can choose between roasted halibut with brown shrimp butter, slow-braised beef cheek with creamed mash or Delica pumpkin with chestnut tahini and pumpkin seed dukkah.

Desserts include Christmas sticky toffee pudding with brandy butterscotch and a chocolate and olive oil ganache tart with black cherry and kirsch. The restaurant’s à la carte menu will also be available.
