The Jugged Hare to host one-day-only Georgian wine dinner

The Jugged Hare will host a one-off Georgian wine dinner with producer Tbilvino on 21 October.

The five-course menu will combine the Barbican gastropub’s game-focused cooking with dishes and flavours drawn from Georgian cuisine. Six Tbilvino wines have been selected to accompany the meal.

Dishes will include Imeretian khachapuri, a Georgian cheese-filled bread, followed by crispy cod cheeks with smoked roe, buttermilk and dill dust.

The menu will also feature The Jugged Hare’s signature hare with nutmeg mash, served with wines including Mtsvane, Qvevris Kisi and Saperavi. The pairings will range from amber-coloured qvevri wines to Georgian reds.

Tbilvino was established in Tbilisi and produces wines using both traditional Georgian methods and modern winemaking techniques. The dinner offers guests an introduction to several of the country’s indigenous grape varieties alongside five courses from The Jugged Hare kitchen.

The Tbilvino dinner will take place at 6.30pm on Wednesday 21 October at The Jugged Hare, 49 Chiswell Street, London EC1Y 4SB. Tickets cost £75 per person.
