Frog by Adam Handling will host two six-course dinners dedicated to caviar and white truffles this November.
Taking place at the Michelin-starred Covent Garden restaurant on 17 and 24 November, the one-off menus will each cost £300 per person, excluding drinks and service. Optional wine pairings will also be available.
Ahrelia Caviar Dinner
The first dinner, held on 17 November, will showcase six expressions of caviar from Ahrelia, the caviar house acquired by Adam Handling earlier this year. Varieties featured throughout the menu will include Oscietra, Kaluga and Beluga.
The evening will begin with snacks including aged beef tartare, “Not an oyster” and Cornish seafood broth.
Courses will include a hash brown with smoked crème fraîche, barbecue scallop with Somerset cider sauce and a caviar waffle served with sturgeon cream and birch syrup. These will be followed by turbot with artichoke and cockles, then beef with langoustine and peppercorn.
A custard tart with olive oil ice cream will finish the menu, continuing the caviar theme into dessert.
The Ahrelia Caviar Dinner takes place on 17 November.
White Truffle Dinner
One week later, Frog will turn its attention to white truffle with a second six-course menu created in collaboration with Zak Frost, founder of Wiltshire Truffles.
Frost, who specialises in hunting, sourcing and supplying fresh truffles, will join Handling for the dinner and discuss the provenance of the truffles served during the evening.
The menu will open with chestnut and white truffle custard with hazelnut, followed by “Frog fried chicken” sweetbread and barbecue sweetcorn with smoked bacon and girolles.
Later courses include turbot with artichoke, cockles and grape, followed by aged beef with bone marrow and mushroom. Dessert combines quince, white chocolate and caramel, before a final dish entitled “One more truffle”.
“The best dinners start with incredible ingredients and these are two of my absolute favourites,” said Handling. “These menus are all about getting creative and celebrating both ingredients in all their forms.”
The White Truffle Dinner takes place on 24 November.
Both dinners are priced at £300 per person for the menu. Beverages, wine pairings and service are charged separately.
