A new gastropub has opened at 224 Munster Road in Fulham, as The Brook and Badger launches under experienced publican Eamonn Manson and pop art dealer Adrian Palengat.
Manson, previously behind the success of Sands End, Brown Cow and Cross Keys, has partnered with his long-time friend Palengat to create the venue, which joins the Brook portfolio as a sibling to the award-winning Brook House. The new opening marks the latest addition to the growing Brook family in Fulham.
Housed in a standalone building, The Brook and Badger is designed to reflect the hallmarks of a modern British pub: strong food, solid drinks and a welcoming atmosphere, alongside more polished touches including considered interiors and comfortable seating. A foliaged exterior and perimeter greenery soften its position on busy Munster Road, with outdoor seating adding to the neighbourhood feel.
Inside, the entrance opens directly into the bar area, where green leather tub chairs and wooden tables sit alongside a panelled wooden bar lined with leather stools. An archway leads through to the dining room, where bistro-style wooden chairs and mixed-size tables create a relaxed setting. Glass double doors at the rear offer a clear view into the kitchen.
The kitchen is led by chef James Scott, who has worked with Manson to develop a menu that draws on seasonal ingredients rather than a single national style. Bar snacks include anchovies on toast and pumpkin hummus, while starters feature dishes such as sea bream ceviche and whipped ricotta. Mains include whole plaice with dill butter and lemon, and pork chop with creamed sprouts, cranberries, chestnuts and bacon.
Pub classics remain a core part of the offering, with hanger steak and chimichurri with fries, battered cod and chips and chicken and mushroom pie all on the menu. Desserts currently include seasonal crumble and sticky toffee pudding, both proving popular.
The drinks programme includes a well-stocked bar and a substantial wine list. General manager Kyle Turner, who brings 24 years of industry experience, 12 of them working alongside Manson, oversees the front of house, with an emphasis on attentive, personable service.
Positioned as both a local and a destination, The Brook and Badger aims to balance a strong food offering with the comfort and accessibility of a neighbourhood pub.
