Japanese restaurant group Taro will open its 10th UK location on March 5, 2026, with the launch of Taro Crystal Palace at 107 Church Road.
The opening follows recent sites in Brentwood (May 2024), Catford (June 2024) and Brighton (September 2025), marking a milestone for the group as it reaches double figures in the UK. The Crystal Palace restaurant will offer 66 covers in a relaxed, contemporary setting, joining the area’s growing dining scene.
Inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Taishu Shokudo’, or an everyday dining room, the new restaurant will serve Taro’s established menu of ramen, udon, sushi, sashimi and tempura, prepared fresh to order using ingredients sourced from long-term suppliers.
Starters will include prawn or grilled chicken gyoza and takoyaki, the crisp octopus balls finished with tonkatsu sauce. The group’s bento boxes remain central to the offering, combining sushi, tempura, katsu, and edamame in traditional red-and-black boxes, served with rice and miso soup.
A range of ramen and rice dishes will be available alongside sashimi, nigiri and tempura bento variations. A Crystal Palace-exclusive special roll will feature salmon, prawn and yellowtail wrapped around asparagus, avocado and tobiko, finished with spicy mayonnaise.
Drinks will include hot and cold sake, Japanese beers and soft drinks, alongside a Lychee martini made with Holy Grass vodka, lychee juice, coconut syrup and lime.
Founder Mr Taro said the opening reflects both the group’s continued growth and its commitment to neighbourhood dining, adding that Crystal Palace’s strong community spirit made it a natural fit for the brand’s 10th UK restaurant. Bookings open ahead of the March 5 launch.
