Nancy Silverton, who was profiled on Netflix’s Chef’s Table and is the co-owner of Michelin-starred Osteria Mozza, is making her UK debut in London next month.

Nancy, also the founder of La Brea Bakery and co-owner of Pizzeria Mozza, Mozza2Go and chi SPACCA in Los Angeles,  is unveiling a pizzeria at the Treehouse Hotel in Marylebone – in partnership with restaurateur Joe Bastianich.

It will be based on Pizzeria Mozza, and feature some of its most popular pies – famed for their unique dough recipe and well-structured crusts – as well as a selection of meat and fish dishes.

Dishes will include antipasti such as salt cod fritti, celeriac, remoulade, and horseradish; shrimp with melon, mint, and chilli lime vinaigrette and squash blossoms fritti with ricotta.

The menu will also offer traditional Italian-inspired salads and a choice of locally sourced salamis and mozzarella, as well as daily specials including stuffed shells with spinach and ricotta for Meatless Mondays, and a fish special for Fish Fridays.

On weekends, Italian-inspired brunch dishes will be served, including torta rustica with bacon, potatoes, caramelized onions, thyme & fontina; brisket or oxtail hash al forno and two olive oil fried eggs, pork sausage, roasted tomato with fried ceci.

Drinks at Pizzeria Mozza will be curated by Joe, with a focus on certified organic, sustainable, or vegan and the wine list will be made up of pours from his winery, La Mozza winery.

Nancy said: “Opening here at the Treehouse in Marylebone is like a wonderful homecoming for me. In 1977, 44 years ago, I was a student at London’s revered Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, mere blocks away on Marylebone Lane and now I am back with my Pizzeria Mozza. It just feels right and I am determined to make my alma mater proud of their former student.  (Let’s just keep that 44 years part between you and me.)”

Pizzeria Mozza will be the latest addition to Treehouse Hotel London’s food and beverage portfolio (Madera, The Nest in Treehouse, Backyard), and the restaurant will be located adjacent to the hotel on the ground floor on Regent Street.

In 2017, Nancy was profiled in an episode in the third series of Netflix’s popular docu-series, ‘Chef’s Table’. In 2014 she was the winner of the James Beard Foundation’s highest honour – the ‘Outstanding Chef Award’ and listed as one of the ‘Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink’ by both Fortune and Food & Wine magazines. Nancy is also the author of nine cookbooks, including ‘Breads from La Brea Bakery’.

Joe is industry recognised as one of America’s leading restaurateurs, with notable award wins including ‘Outstanding Wine and Spirits Professional’, by both the James Beard Foundation and Bon Appetit Magazine in 2005, and in 2008 the James Beard Foundation’s ‘Outstanding Restaurateur Award’. He is also a prolific winemaker, and can be found at the helm of Bastianich Wines in Friuli, Italy.
