Danish-Japanese restaurant group Sticks’n’Sushi is marking the start of sake brewing season with a series of events dedicated to Japan’s national drink. Across the month of October, the group will host guided tastings, cocktail masterclasses and an intimate pairing dinner, welcoming both enthusiasts and newcomers to discover the world of sake.
The programme is curated by Certified Sake Sommelier Vicky Vecchione, who has invited leading Japanese breweries to London for the occasion.

Sake Masterclass for Beginners by Takara
Wednesday 1 October, 7–9pm, Battersea
An introduction to sake with pours from Shirakabegura Kimoto Junmai, Gokai, Shochikubai Nigori and sparkling Mio Sake, paired with Sticks’n’Sushi dishes.

Cocktail Masterclass with Sake Ono
Wednesday 8 October, 7–9pm, Shoreditch
Learn three sake cocktails – Ono Martini, Ono Spritz and Ono Sour – using premium Junmai Daiginjo, paired with light bites.

Akashi Tai Sake Paired Dinner
Wednesday 15 October, 7–9pm, White City
A four-course dinner paired with Akashi Tai sakes: Yuzushu, Honjozo Genshu and Junmai Daiginjo, plus Gingo Plum Wine. The evening opens with Kagami Biraki, the ceremonial breaking of the sake barrel.
