Seven Dials Market has announced a celebration running alongside the return of Notting Hill Carnival from August 26 to 29.
There will be a takeover from the Reggae & Dancehall collective, Reggae Roast, alongside a weekend of steelpan bands, calypso, and carnival vibes.
The carnival party will feature late-night openings on the August 27 and 28. A line-up of DJs curated by Reggae Roast will perform from 6pm until 1am, featuring Earl Gateshead, Clifford Junior, Josh Skints and Ayito, all hosted by Natty Campbell.
Seven Dials Market will be serving up a menu with some exclusives from the market’s traders – such as El Pollote’s Carnival special, Papelon con Limon chicken wings with spicy penela syrup and lime crema.
The Reggae Rum Punch cocktail is created specially for the weekend and made with spiced rum, coconut rum, banana, passion fruit, orange, pineapple & grenadine.
Other activities include a face painting glitter station and a make-your-own masquerade kits for children which will be available throughout the weekend. Lastly, on Monday there will be a children’s carnival film club where Rio will be screening on a loop all day from 11am.
