Sweet, crunchy and luxury biscuits, packaged in twos to stay fresh and to eat on the go. These biscuits taste very naughty but nice and can curb some of the strongest sweet cravings.
You’ll probably know Bonne Maman as the creators of the collection of jams with the red gingham-like lids but their range now includes several sweet, baked goods – all stemming from traditional French recipes. We gave their new Chocolate Butter Galettes a try – being Chocolate Week and all.
The appearance
The packaging is great, bringing in the traditional red gingham and the hand-written style font to a square biscuit box. They also have a circular window in the front which shows the packaging – kind of reminiscent of a porthole. You get five packs, with two in each pack – perfect for putting in your lunchbox or just for keeping them fresh if you just want a couple at a time.
The taste
The texture of these are great, there’s a richness similar to shortbread but a fantastic crunch that can’t be rivalled by many of the other biscuits out there. These little gems completely melt in your mouth – probably the intensely buttery content. The flavour is intense with cocoa but not bitter in the slightest. These are perfect on their own, with a cuppa or with ice-cream.
