The Good
The story…
Damien Lee, Founder of Mr. Lee’s Noodles, is a survivor of stage four cancer, and his battle is what inspired him to start this company. The goal was simply to create delicious, healthy and authenticly flavoured gourmet noodles. The product is being aimed towards students, Universities, Hospitals, and anywhere where ready meals are frequently needed, but don’t necessarily provide healthy ones.
Dehydrated VS. Freeze-dried…
Where many instant noodles use a cheaper method of dehydrating their ingredients (a process which removes a lot of the nutrition, shape, and flavour of the product), Mr. Lee’s ingredients are freeze dried, a more expensive process but locks more of the nutrition, flavour and shape of their ingredients. On top of this, it’s all gluten-free authentic flavoured, low in calories, low in sugar & salt, with No MSG’s, E’s or other artificial colours, additives or preservatives.
Kiosks…
Mr. Lee’s Noodle interactive kiosks only take 45 seconds to prepare a meal, and within this time you can watch bitesized infomercials, nutritional info and more. This is a great way to educate and entertain the younger generation, which this product is mostly aimed for.
The Price
These work out around double the price of some other pot noodles, but it’s worth it if you value your health. Shipping is free when you buy more than 4 boxes.
The Bad
Struggled to find anything particularly bad with this product, you could say they’re pricey but in my opinion you’re getting your money’s worth.
The Verdict
Mr. Lee’s Noodles look, taste and smell great, based on authentic oriental flavours, there’s no cheap flavour to them nor a dirty after taste like other instant noodles have. Averaging at around 200 calories, these can keep you going with no cravings for a fair while – even with my appetite! The overall product and philosophy behind it is something I can really get behind..
…and I didn’t even eat pot noodles until now.
