To coincide with this year’s Wimbledon Championships, RAILS Restaurant at the Great Northern Hotel is serving a limited-edition Match Point Afternoon Tea, available daily from 29 June to 12 July.

The seasonal menu gives a sporting twist to the traditional afternoon tea, beginning with a selection of finger sandwiches including roasted beef sirloin with horseradish, smoked salmon with dill and lemon crème fraîche, cucumber with cream cheese, and an asparagus and chive tartlet.

The sweets lean into classic British summer flavours, with highlights including a Pimm’s macaron designed to resemble a tennis ball, a chocolate tea biscuit cake decorated with golden racquets, and an apricot Bakewell tart. Fresh strawberries with cream and warm plain and fruit scones complete the experience.

Guests can pair the afternoon tea with a choice of loose-leaf blends from Camellia’s Tea House, or upgrade the occasion with a glass of Prosecco, Nyetimber English sparkling wine or Billecart-Salmon Champagne.

The Match Point Afternoon Tea is available daily from 1pm to 5pm throughout the Championships, priced from £42.50 per person.
