Manchester’s dining scene will welcome a new international name this spring, as Sticks’n’Sushi opens in Spinningfields on March 30.

The Danish-Japanese restaurant group will make its Manchester debut with a two-storey site in the heart of the district, bringing its established combination of sushi, grilled sticks and sharing menus to the city for the first time. The brand is known for pairing Scandinavian design with Japanese culinary technique, underpinned by the principle of ‘Omotenashi’ — wholehearted hospitality.

The food offering spans sushi and maki rolls alongside items from the grill. Signature dishes include Beef Tataki with miso aioli, artichoke chips and shiitake & truffle ponzu; Kani Korokke, crab croquettes with wasabi Caesar; and the Hell’s Kitchen maki topped with tuna. From the grill, diners can expect Miso-Marinated Black Cod sticks and Chicken Meatballs with teriyaki.

Set sharing menus such as As Good As It Gets, Set For Success and Greenkeeper are designed to offer a cross-section of the menu, featuring starters, build-your-own Temaki Setto handrolls and grilled sticks.

The drinks list will include sake, Japanese teas and cocktails such as a Hibiscus Margarita and Matcha & Yuzu Spritz, alongside premium spirits, beer and the group’s own-label yuzu pale ale.

The Manchester restaurant has been designed by Berlin-based architects Diener & Diener, with interiors combining Japanese-inspired architectural detailing and Scandinavian materials including glass and timber. A pergola-covered terrace and bar will support all-day dining and drinking in one of the city’s busiest areas.

Bookings for Sticks’n’Sushi Manchester from March 30 are now open, with soft launch previews available via sign-up.
