A while back Chef Jesse Dunford Wood took over the site of a pub in Kensal, renaming in Parlour and filling it with eccentric decor and stuff in what I think is a nautical theme. Jesse is known for being on Masterchef a few times and bringing a unconventional/delicious approach to some of your favourite dishes – he’s also a bit of a joker when you meet him! Unpretentious and unconventional food in somewhat crazy surroundings, Parlour’s bar has a collection of really weird liqueurs as well. I live in Croydon and am actually quite sad that Parlour is so far away from me. I’ve only been twice but feel like they’ve converted me. They got the second 5* review on Tasting Britain for their Chef’s Table, which is a dining experience like no other!
