In celebration of theatre and live performance returning to the capital, Southwark restaurant Bala Baya, is launching a pre and post-theatre menu.
Near to a variety of theatrical institutions, including The Old Vic and Shakespeare’s Globe, and the Union Theatre, Bala Baya has launched a menu by Chef Eran Tibi’s inspired by the Israeli city.
Offering family-style dining that focuses on the enjoyment of fresh, sustainably sourced ingredients, the Taste of Tel Aviv pre and post-theatre menu includes a choice of two plates and an unlimited supply of pitta bread.
Priced at £25 per person, signature plates include; fried cauliflower with pomegranate syrup, smoked parmesan crumble, lime yoghurt and parsley; a dish of monkfish tail, vodka tempura, harissa caramel, lemon aioli, soft herbs and dumplings of lamb forequarter, date jus, shawarma spice, semolina, garlic yoghurt, buttered pine nuts.
Desserts include the Burnt Babka, with hazelnut and dark chocolate, morello cherry compote, creme anglaise, and the Malibu Malabi, a concoction of coconut cream, orange blossom, white rum, mango, yuzu, coconut flakes, rose.
The Taste of Tel Aviv menu is priced at £25pp and includes two signature plates and house-made pita.
