Ivan Ramen has opened its first permanent UK restaurant at 98 Farringdon Road, marking chef Ivan Orkin’s official London debut following a sold-out pop-up in 2023.

Orkin, known internationally and featured on Chef’s Table, brings his cult ramen bowls to a 26-seat site in EC1R. The Farringdon opening adds London to the list of cities central to his career, alongside Tokyo and New York.

The menu includes signature dishes such as Tonkotsu, Tori Paitan and Spicy Miso Red Chilli ramen, as well as Ivan’s Karaage. A new dish created specifically for London, the Salt Beef Bun, draws on East End bagel shop flavours, combining warm salt beef with pickled cucumbers and karashi mustard mayo.

The restaurant’s interiors have been created by Harrison, blending clean-lined Japanese design with nods to the energy of a New York ramen shop. The 26-cover space features a minimal palette offset by colourful manga-style artwork and illuminated lightbox pieces.

Design details reference Orkin’s original New York shop, with reclaimed furniture and lighting, alongside photography documenting his journey into ramen. The open kitchen sits at the front of the restaurant, framed by Japanese-inspired lightbox artwork, allowing diners to watch the preparation process.

The launch has been delivered in partnership with Sessions, which describes the opening as the first step in plans to expand the brand across multiple UK locations.

Ivan Ramen is now open to the public in Farringdon.
