The hotel has announced it will launch Sweeties, a new 10th floor cocktail bar and late-night spot, dedicated to drinks packed with feel-good ingredients.
Sweeties will offer a menu of naturally mood-boosting cocktails created by The Standard in collaboration with award-winning mixologists, Jack Sotti and Todd Austin. The cocktail menu will be centred around a blend of energising adaptogens and nootropics – including reishi, ashwagandha and holy basil. Ingredients all said to help with cognitive function and herbal medicines.
Occupying the eastern length of the landmark Brutalist building and accessed via the hotel’s red pill exterior lift, Sweetie’s interior is designed by Shawn Hausman to evoke an early 1970s Hollywood opulence.
Ochre velvet sofas, ruched leather banquettes, mirrored tables, and a six-foot antique phallic sculpture will invite guests to become immersed in a world of new wave glamour meets glorious misbehaviour.
Signature cocktails include the pink Frothy Boi with lacto-rhubarb, gin, raspberry, pink pepper and gut-friendly fermented amazake oats, the Pick Me Up made with a blend of 8 adaptogenic mushrooms, brown vodka, buttery cacao and coffee, and the Crystal Healing – a vivid blue cocktail made with spirulina, pepper dulse seaweed distillate, bergamot, and electrolyte-rich coconut ice.
Most cocktails will be also available in non-alcoholic versions such as the Holy Thursday, featuring holy basil, green peppermint, white chocolate and mosaic hops, and the No Whey José with hot and cold strawberry, rose, red rice milk, and a salted coconut and lime leaf foam.
Sweetie’s will also host an evolving line-up of international DJs playing on a custom-made stack-style Funktion-One sound system.
From 24th February, Sweeties will be open from 5pm on Wednesday to Saturday each week. The venue has room for 80 (seated) to 150 (standing). https://www.standardhotels.com/en-GB/london/features/sweeties
