Review: The Collective Dairy – Suckies

0 Flares 0 Flares ×

These fresh and funky yoghurt pouches are awesome for kids and grown-ups alike. They are great for when you are out and about, convenient and resealable as they have screw tops unlike many of the previous generations of on-the-go ranges from other companies. The packet design also helps them to stay cool even if they’ve been out of the fridge for a little while. They come in a delicious range of flavours, which make them irresistible … they won’t stay in your fridge long!

The flavours
There is a range of flavours to suit different taste buds, or simply to match the mood you’re in. These include:

Sassy Strawberry  – simple strawberry, only not so simple. The strawberry pouch has a strong enough flavour that you can taste the fruit over the yoghurt but not to the point of being over-baring … so the goldilocks of strawberry yoghurt.

Peach & Apricot – a slightly more subtle flavour, but this is its strength. This is the flavour to go for if you want something a little bit comforting and creamy and doesn’t have those precarious unidentifiable lumps that can generally be associated with this flavour yoghurt.

Sunkissed Tropical – this is the wildest of the flavours, the one with the biggest burst of flavour. It’s the perfect snack for a hot summer’s day as the tropical fruits melt in your mouth and cut through the creamy yoghurt, keeping it fresher in flavour that others in hot weather.

Kiwi, Pear & Apple – I found this one to be the least flavoured of all, it will probably be quite a popular choice with kids for that exact reason. It was really nice to have something kiwi flavoured without having the little pips/seeds to deal with. Smooth!

What’s is or isn’t in them?
The Collective Dairy has a strictly no bull policy, meaning that their ingredients are not only fresh, but also as friendly and natural as possible. Suckies have no artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives, no GM ingredients, only  contain sugars from fruits within them, use whole milk,  are gluten free, are vegetarian and no pips or bits are allowed in.

The verdict
Overall these little pouches are a really tasty and convenient treat. Perfect for lunches, in the car, at a picnic … and so on. They contain a decent portion of yoghurt, 100g, which is far more than a lot of the competitors. Kids will love the novelty value and the flavour combinations and adults will love the great quality yoghurt and the fact that they aren’t packaged in a ridiculous manner that makes you look like you are eating a child’s treat. They are fun, but sophisticated all at the same time.

Where can I get them?
The Collective Dairy products can be found at: Tesco, Sainsbury, Superdrug, Waitrose, Ocado, The Co-operative Food, Booths, WHSmith, Nisa and Boots. Ranges vary from store to store. Locate your nearest store here.
