Michael Lord quit his job in the city to build a whisky shop right in the middle of Dufftown. The results were spectacular – there’s over 600 whiskies in this tiny storefront building and unlike lots of places they let you try almost everything before you buy it. They also have their own Autumn festival and are a big part of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival (SOSWF) We went for a tasting with the man himself, who even tried the ‘whisky and bacon sandwich pairing’ (which, for some of the whiskies actually worked). Here I discovered BenRiach with a Madeira wood finish and my life took on new meaning :3
