Our Kelly gives the new BRITA bottle a whirl to see if it makes a splash…

Staying hydrated on the go can be a hassle. And when you’re buying countless bottles of water, it can soon start to add up. A refillable water bottle may not be the most exciting purchase you make this year, but hey – a healthy lifestyle is a happy one. Given the chance to review the new BRITA Fill&Go bottle, I was interested to see how it would fit in with my lifestyle.

What is it?

Fill&Go takes BRITA’s classic filter system and puts it in a water bottle, perfect for sport and days on the move. Available in blue, green, grey or pink, this refillable bottle filters tap water to offer clean, fresh hydration throughout the day.

How much is it?

Pros

Just the right size to carry in your hand, Fill&Go is great for sports and commuting.  The secure lid ensures it stays watertight if you throw it in your handbag or gym kit, whilst the suction lid offers a controlled flow of water when drinking. So you don’t have to worry about leaks and spills when on you’re on the run or rushing around town!

What I didn’t expect about my humble water bottle was the number of complements I would receive. With a simple but stylish design, the colourful lid gives this bottle a contemporary appearance that will look good on your desk.

Cons

Whilst it’s hard to find faults with the BRITA Fill&Go, working out how to insert the filter tab wasn’t entirely straightforward at first. That said, as the filters last for a whole week, it’s still a low maintenance option if you want clean, great-tasting water without having to buy it from the shops.

Verdict

As someone with an aversion to plain old water, I usually find other ways to get my 2 litres a day – tea, squash, juice and the occasional fizzy drink. So I was intrigued to find out whether a BRITA bottle would kickstart my hydration habit. It did.

Fill it up a few hours before you leave the house, chill in the fridge, then head out for the day with enough water to keep you refreshed on the move.
