With spring bringing all manner of ‘dry’ promises and superfood lists etc. the rebel in me has been out drinking more often than not. That said, I have bought a new blender and been trying to balance out the drinking with plenty of ‘nurturing’ in preparation for some exciting visits I’ve got lined up for the restaurant reviews and other sections.
I have looked into these juice cleanse diets before because I am basically pretty lazy sometimes and I don’t like cleaning all of the gunk from my juicer. But I have always been put off by the prices of fresh juices. What I love about the B Fresh Juices was that they combined fruit and vegetables that have all been cold pressed. And nothing is added at all.
I was sent three different types to try, which all had their own hashtag. Oh they’re so hip!
#theorangeone comprised carrot and orange, and was by far the sweetest. Conjuring a Sicilian orange grove, it tasted clean, fresh and sweet and allowed me to feel pious without an element of endurance.
#easybeet was, as the name might imply, a deep maroon in colour, which is the exact shade of my favourite red wine, but of course, this one tastes earthier. Now, aside from the beetroot juice the other juices in this were apple and carrot, which added sweetness and a little squeeze of lemon, which cut through the beet quite nicely. With only 68 calories, this juice was also easy on the palate and gave me a virtuous glow.
Finally #sweetgreens kind of did what it said on clear plastic bottle and provided an injection of kale, spinach, apple and lemon, making the greens a little sweeter to the taste.
All of them tasted fresh, crisp and clean and are much more reasonably priced than some of their competitors.
