Pizza Pilgrims have announced a brand-new deli concept selling Italian produce and dry store goods alongside their latest pizzeria in London’s Queen’s Park, on Monday 3 July.
The deli will stock ’00’ flour from the famous Caputo mill in Naples city centre, Bufala Mozzarella from Latteria Sorretina’s Giovanni – which was discovered by founders James and Thom Elliot, following their first ‘pizza pilgrimage’ around Italy 12 years ago. – and the brand’s house-made ‘La Bomba’ Chilli Oil.
A gluten-free dough is available with all pizzas and for budding piazzioli, fresh dough is available to buy for use in at-home pizza ovens.
The restaurant will also be welcoming locals ahead of the opening with a Slice Day giveaway, handing out 1,000 free slices on Saturday 1 July.
Guesets can enter the main dining area with a purpose-built Pavesi pizza oven at its centre next to an open-plan kitchen, which allows guests to watch pizzaioli at work.
The new site will feature a dough window where passers-by can watch the kneading, shaping and finessing of their pizza.
James Elliot said: “We are so excited to be opening on potentially our new favourite street in London, Lonsdale Rd, Queen’s Park. The new restaurant is a beautiful building and we’ve already found the area be the kind of place where neighbours unthinkingly introduce themselves and welcome you! As always, we look forward to firing up the oven and serving some Neapolitan pizza to the good people of Queen’s Park. We will also be introducing a new “deli” concept where people can purchase amazing Italian ingredients to take away.”
