Don’t Tell Dad, the neighbourhood bakery and restaurant from Coco di Mama co-founder Daniel Land, is now officially open for reservations.

Located in the cobbled passage of Lonsdale Road in Queen’s Park, Don’t Tell Dad is set over two lateral spaces, with a menu of baked goods from Head Baker Keren Sternberg (ex Layla, Hide),  and main dishes from Luke Frankie (ex Noble Rot, Drapers Arms) and team.

Designed by Nothing is Not Nothing and Daisy Peat, Dont Tell Dad was conceived as a neighbourhood hang-out where everyone is welcome and anything goes. The space was inspired by mischievous siblings and captures that playful spirit of revelry to create an informal, lively spot, embracing the beauty and chaos of local life.

The Bakery operates from a completely open kitchen, inviting customers to watch the making of goods such as Brown butter hazelnut croissants, Arthicoka, sage and Lancashire Poacher Pain Suisse, Bergamot and cardamom doughnuts and Chocolate and buckwheat cookies, as well as fresh loaves, sandwiches, and other delectable treats.

Sternberg and her team of patissiéres with CVs boasting some of London’s finest bakeries (Pophams, Jolene and Ottolenghi), produce both essential and indulgent bakes – something to grab on the school run, enjoy as a weekend treat, or as a daily staple.

At the restaurant, Frankie’s menu showcases modern French and British dishes, with a modern, playful twist on classics.

Dishes include oxtail crumpets and dripping crumb, truffle and cheddar beignets accompanied by mushroom ketchup and fritto misto drizzled with honey. Tea-smoked trout with soda bread, horseradish and pickles, braised pork with apple and walnut, and skate cheeks with cauliflower and spiced butter are also on the menu.

For chilly winter months, a selection of comforting mains with big flavours is being served, including delica pumpkin, salsify, lentils and goat’s curd and Confit duck leg, carrot and date purée.
