Piri-piri chicken spot, Casa do Frango, with locations in London Bridge and Shoreditch, is launching Casa do Frango Heddon Street, which opens Friday 14th October.

This will be the brand’s flagship and largest site to date, and is the first of future openings, including an early 2023 launch for Casa do Frango Victoria.

Situated at 31-33 Heddon Street, the new site will encompass a street-level terrace, an expansive, 200-seat dining room, a drinks bar, The Green Room, and two private dining rooms.

The menu is centred around the Algarvian staple of frango piri-piri; half a chicken, brushed with a secret piri-piri recipe and drawing on co-founder Marco Mendes’ upbringing in the Algarve region of Southern Portugal.

As per Algarve tradition, the open-fire grill is stoked with wood charcoal.

Accompanying the signature frango piri-piri is a selection of Portuguese sharing plates, which take inspiration from popular dishes from around the country, as well as sides such as Iberico pork croquettes and bacalhau fritters to batatas fritas and a Montanheira salad.

From the bar, guests can expect a classic white port and tonic, Portuguese beer on draught, and a selection of cocktails with Portuguese twists. An all-Portuguese wine list also features Casa do Frango’s own Vinho Verde, Boa Pinga, a lightly effervescent wine created by the team, in collaboration with their friends at Quinta de Santiago.

Designed by Alessio Nardi of A-nrd Studio, the restaurant interiors look tot evoke the sun-bleached facades of the Algarve.

The design accents the building’s existing architecture with reclaimed wood flooring, blonde oak furniture, traditional tile friezes and decorative pieces from the region.

Casa do Frango co-founder Marco Mendes, said:  “This is a special moment for MJMK and the Casa do Frango team as we bring our signature Frango Piri-Piri to central London, with the opening of our largest site to date. There is so much untold in the story of Southern Portuguese culture, which we are honoured to celebrate, and I am incredibly proud to bring the heritage, cuisine, and hospitality of the Algarve, my home, to a new neighbourhood. The team and I are looking forward to welcoming our new neighbours and friends to Heddon Street.”

Casa do Frango Heddon Street will open on Friday 14th October, reservations can be made here.
