This summer, Andaz London Liverpool Street turns up the heat with a three-month Argentinian takeover at Eastway Brasserie, led by rising star chef Cristian ‘Chino’ González.
Running from June 2 through September, the residency marks a bold new chapter for the brasserie, which is known for its relaxed all-day menu and prime location in one of London’s busiest transit hubs. The new menu brings fire-led cooking, Latin American flair, and González’s globe-spanning culinary background to the fore.
Born in Buenos Aires, González has trained in some of the world’s most acclaimed kitchens — including the three-Michelin-starred Mirazur in the South of France under Mauro Colagreco, and Martín Berasategui’s Lasarte-Oria in the Basque Country. His South American career has seen him leading brigades at Lima’s Malabar, Uruguay’s La Huella, and Argentina’s Mostrador Santa Teresita, where he worked closely with Fernando Trocca.
His takeover at Eastway blends that experience into a menu that marries classical precision with South American soul. Highlights include seabass ceviche with tomberries and puffed quinoa, grilled thin skirt steak with chimichurri, and a sirloin milanesa served alongside pesto taglioline. A rich orecchiette dish combines clams, pork sausage and cime di rapa, offering a land-and-sea balance that reflects González’s nuanced approach to flavour.
There’s also a nod to Buenos Aires street food with snacks like tapioca buns with sweet chilli and parmesan, and deep-fried shrimp empanadas. Desserts keep the indulgence going with options such as dulce de leche mousse topped with praline and banana.
To complement the food, the brasserie’s wine list will feature a rotating selection of Argentinian bottles — from bright, mineral-driven whites to robust reds — carefully chosen to pair with the kitchen’s layered, open-flame dishes.
The residency is part of Andaz London’s ongoing culinary programme, which focuses on spotlighting emerging global talent and curating destination-worthy dining experiences within its five-star Liverpool Street hotel.
Bookings are now open via Eastway Brasserie’s website.
