Claude and Lucy Bosi will officially open the second location of their acclaimed French restaurant Josephine on April 24, bringing an authentic taste of café and brasserie culture to the heart of Marylebone. Located on Blandford Street, the new site builds on the success of Josephine Chelsea with a focus on nostalgic French cooking and elegant, all-day dining.
The menu draws inspiration from the grand brasseries of Paris, offering everything from classic starters like soufflé au Camembert and escargots à l’ail, to generous plats à partager such as filet de bœuf and poulet aux morilles. The seafood selection includes freshly shucked oysters, langoustines and homard mayonnaise, served from a dedicated oyster kiosk. Alongside this is a PDT (Pommes de Terre) menu, celebrating French potato dishes with options like gratin dauphinois, silky pomme purée and classic frites.
Desserts range from rhum baba and mousse au chocolat to soufflé glacé au Grand Marnier, with a nostalgic banana split and a curated cheese selection for those who prefer savoury. The drinks list features wines from across France, including Burgundy, Jura and the Loire Valley, with vintage Champagnes and house wines served by the metre. Sweet wines and digestifs round out the experience.
In a new addition, Josephine Marylebone will offer breakfast. Guests can choose between lighter options like Greek yoghurt with clementine and bircher muesli with apple and pomegranate, or more indulgent fare such as a full English or croque monsieur. Sharing baskets of freshly baked baguettes, artisanal jams, charcuterie and pastries will evoke a traditional Parisian morning.
The restaurant also features La Terrasse, a 16-seat al fresco area, inviting guests to enjoy relaxed street-side dining in the spirit of Parisian boulevardiers. Interiors, designed by Fabled Studio, take cues from classic French bistros and brasseries. Rich wood panelling, antique mirrors and ambient lighting create a warm, welcoming space influenced by the work of French impressionist painters.
Claude and Lucy Bosi said: “With Josephine Chelsea, we had the pleasure of getting to know the locals while celebrating the rich, comforting flavours of Lyon. Now, with Josephine Marylebone, we hope to do the same. Our vision is to create a space that exudes warmth and conviviality, where every detail – from the menu to the ambiance – reflects our appreciation for authentic French hospitality.”
