The Three Daggers Inn has opened its doors to those looking to sample a taste of Wiltshire.

The inn dates back to the 18th century and resides on the grounds of the Battle of Edington (878 AD) – one of the most important battles in British history.

Today, it is home to three restored rooms; three self-catering cottages that boast a variety of amenities the Three Daggers Farm Shop which celebrates local, Wiltshire suppliers; The Three Daggers Brewery and an award-winning, farm-to-fork country pub that champions local produce, much of which is grown on the local village farm.

The three guest bedrooms – Coulston, Priory and Tinhead – have been restored with modern touches whilst maintaining the rustic charm of the original 18th Century design.

Guests can unwind in the shared living space and are also invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast in The Three Daggers Pub.

Those seeking more private, self-contained accommodation can choose between three luxury cottages in Edington – Orchard House, Brewhouse and the newly refurbished Hillside Cottage.

At the pub, head chef Simon Mealing works closely with the Priory Farm gardening team and head gardener Arek Adamczak to grow much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs served on the pub’s seasonal menu, ensuring provenance, quality and hyperlocal produce measured in food metres rather than miles.

The pub is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with sample dishes including, oxtail croquettes with chilli honey and pickled radish; heritage beetroot terrine with salt-baked beetroot and whipped goats curd and Wiltshire lamb rump with black garlic puree, hasselback potatoes and lamb bon bon, alongside classic pub grub.

The pub has held 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence since 2019 alongside 5 Gold Stars from the AA for accommodation excellence.

It also won the ‘England Pub of the Year Award’ in 2020.

Outside the Three Daggers Pub is the Woodshed; a wooden hut serving draught beers and fire-roasted, hand-stretched sourdough pizzas from a wood-fired pizza oven throughout the Summer.

The Three Daggers Brewery is a nano-brewery established in 2013 and led by Ricky Carr.

Carr brews a range of real ales using local hops and maltings alongside seasonal and celebration ales including the Ethandun 878 – inspired by the Battle of Edington in AD 878.
