On Thursday 11 April leading caviar brand Umai and Joe Laker, head chef at recently opened Counter 71, are putting a Southern twist on caviar tasting with a caviar and fried chicken experience at the restaurant’s Lowcountry bar. Celebrating a new era of caviar consumption, Umai will be brought to life through a welcome masterclass, before guests are invited to choose a 20g tin of caviar (either Heritage or Modern Umai) to pair with their exclusive six-course tasting menu (£65 per head). Highlights from the menu will include chicken skin crisp, popcorn chicken with ranch, stuffed wing and chicken burger with pickles and buffalo sauce. Umai caviar is prized for its quality control, umami flavour profile and responsible aquaculture.
