Manzi’s, the long-awaited restaurant from The Wolseley Hospitality Group, will officially open its doors in the heart of Soho in July.
The new Manzi’s will be a tribute to the iconic restaurant, which opened in the 1920s, and famously served Londoners off of Leicester Square for more than half a century.
The seafood-focused menu will offer dishes such as moules marinière, lobster rolls, clam chowder, a ‘catch of the day’ and Dover sole.
The restaurant will be located at Bateman’s Buildings, a wide alleyway running south from Soho Square, parallel with both Greek and Frith Streets.
It will be set over two floors, flooded with natural light and facing the verdant Soho Square.
On the top floor, an impressive bar will be the focal point as well as a DJ booth which will feature live music to recreate the buzzing vibe of the original space.
There will also be a large outdoor terrace and private dining room for more intimate occasions.
The decor by Fabled Studio takes inspiration from the hedonistic escapism that the original Manzi’s was known for, but reimagines this for a modern time.
A hand-laid marble mosaic greets diners at the entrace, while a huge Poseidon statue stands guard in the ground-floor dining room.
Motifs of mermaids and mermen, nautical symbolism, and an abundance of sea creatures, set against a colour palette of blue white and aquamarine transports diners to the Mediterranean.
Further details to be announced.
