Love BBQ? Love festivals? Well how about both together? Next weekend the biggest, baddest food festival hits the East End of London as Grillstock lands at Chestnuts Field in Walthamstow. There’s an insane line-up of world-class music, food, competitions and festival fun.
The pit crews will light up their coals on the Friday night before the festival, and cook through the night, making sure the temperature stays just right for service over the weekend. If you purchase a Pit Crew ticket, you will be lucky enough to get access to the grounds on Friday evening to witness this and join in the Firestarter party.
Following sell-out events in Bristol and Manchester, Grillstock London will be the biggest yet with 40,000 festival goers expected over the weekend and 40 teams competing in the official BBQ competition.
The King of the Grill competition is at the heart of Grillstock, a BBQ and music festival which started in Bristol in 2010, introducing the concept of competition BBQ to the UK, thousands of miles from its US southern home. As the popularity of the festival and the competition has grown, Grillstock will now bring the meat, music and mayhem to the capital with a BBQ competition that has been officially accredited by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). Our very own Jack will be taking a place on the judging panel so be sure to say hi to him on Sunday.
The music line-up currently includes the likes of Grandmaster Flash, DJ Yoda, Fun Lovin Criminals and Razorlight.
Sounds great right?
