So good Tozi you
A few weeks ago, our friends at Tozi, down in scenic Victoria, celebrated their first year. We got to meet Daniele Pampagnin, one of the chefs behind Tozi, hear a little about what exactly the difference between Venetian and Italian food is and try some of said food (though they’re all Venetian they stick to Italian in the main)
As part of their first birthday celebrations, and keeping with the Venetian theme, Tozi are putting on a series of Aperol Spritz masterclasses.
The Aperol Spritz is, I think, the most popular cocktail in Italy – and (not sure if this is legit) I’m told that it is drunk quite regularly by fishermen and labourers during the hotter months – during/before/after work – for it’s refreshing and…alcoholic qualities.
Aperol, along with Campari is ubiquitous in Italy, look for them in other popular cocktails like the Negroni.
Here’s some info about the masterclasses, that we kinda saw a half demo of, inbetween about a million courses of delicious small Italian meals…
The Cocktail Masterclasses – 8th July, 4th August
Hosted by an Aperol brand ambassador, they’ll teach you how to mix an Aperol Spiritz, along with a few other apertivi (I’m pretty sure he demonstrated how to do a Negroni too). It’s an opportunity to meet a few new people, hear about the history of Spritz culture and steal ideas for your very own themed Aperol party (though don’t expect ’em to show you how they cook the cicchetti)
Cost is £25 per person, including the masterclass and a selection of cicchetti. It starts at 6.30 pm and ends 8 pm. For more details and to book, email reservations@tozirestaurant.co.uk
Fancy going? Tell them that Tasting Britain sent you, and they might hook you up with something extra special 🙂
